Offseason, and Random Bits of Information.
Submitted by Jared on Tue, 10/20/2009 - 1:20pmSo its offseason ay, been not too much of a lazy ass, training certainly hasn't been at the top of my to do list, but ive been doing enough riding to keep some good strength and fitness up. Just keeping it fun, it's definately nice to not have a day to day plan, and just ride as I feel like doing it. Which makes me realize how much I love riding my bike, no matter what it is, DH, XC, 4X, BMX, Road....just whatever. coz im still getting out 4-5 days a week.
World Cup Finals, Schladming, Austria, and home again!
Submitted by Jared on Fri, 09/25/2009 - 12:45pmAfter 6 days at home, I had to pack again for a 10 day Europe trip for world cup finals, a long way to go for one race.
Despite doing a whole lot of not much, for the week after worlds, I felt really good on my bike when we got to Austria. Practice started on Thursday for 4X and it felt so good to be wearing the world champion rainbow jersey, everyone looks at you, and it gets you a lot of attention for sure.
In Transit, Back to Europe
Submitted by Jared on Sun, 09/13/2009 - 5:24pmCurrently enjoying a sweet 40 hour layover In Bangkok on my way to the world cup finals in Schladming, Austria.
Had a really good week back at home with Blenkincraps, Gwinny and Juan Reynaldo, as well as Jess, Josie and Jake, at the Gravey compound!
The mini Moto got dominated, the Thai restaurant and Super Rooster got dominated, and some Bundy Rum got.....well no one dominates Bundy Rum, but I showed the Bundy Bear that I can keep him under control by indulging in just a few rums, instead of 20. After all, theres still one more race to come.
World Championships, Canberra.
Submitted by Jared on Tue, 09/08/2009 - 8:00pmIn opening, I'd like to say......ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Good times! It had been a perfect lead up to the World cnamps in Canberra, so much so that I had started to think I would be jinxed all over again, as that is how it had felt in the past couple years. But looking back somethig felt different in the lead up also. I felt a lot more relaxed, having my favorite squid in the world Sam Willoughby around helped a ton. As always, from the moment I picked him up at the airport 4 days before flying out to Canberra, it was rad, all laughs, and perfect last minute preparations.
Back in Australia, 2 weeks til World champs.
Submitted by Jared on Tue, 08/18/2009 - 6:23amAs the title would suggest im back at home in good old Toowoomba again for a few weeks, with the World MTB Champs being in Canberra this year its nice to be able to come home and do some final preparations at home, since Canberra is only an easy 1 hour flight away.
Its always so nice to come home after a lot of months away, see Jess, and the dogs! Always so nice.
